The youngest actor to played James Bond is George Lazenby (Australia, b. 5 September 1939), who was 29 during the filming of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), which was shot between October 1968 and June 1969.
Former Blockbusters presenter Bob Holness (South Africa, b. 12 November 1928, d. 06 January 2012) is often credited as the youngest actor to play James Bond, thanks to his role in an early South African radio adaptation of ‘Moonraker’. However, the exact date of this serial remains unclear, and although online sources often list it as being broadcast in 1956 or 1957, Holness himself recalled recording the drama in 1958, which, depending on the months of the year in which it was recorded, would make him roughly the same age as Lazenby when playing the role, or possibly older.
