International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) is the world governing body for all towed water sports and has 90+ affiliated member Federations worldwide. It was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1946 and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the sole authority governing all towed water sports.  The IWWF is also an affiliate member of Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) and one of the seven founding sports of the World Games. The IWWF’s competitive and recreational towed water sport divisions include the following: Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Barefoot Waterskiing, Show Waterskiing, Cable Wakeboarding, Cable Waterskiing, Waterski Racing, Disabled Waterskiing, Kneeboarding and Wakesurfing.

The most points from waterskiing tricks (male) is 12,970 points, achieved by Jake Abelson (USA) on Lake Ledbetter in Florida, USA, on 10 May 2024.

Abelson beat his own tricks world record by 250 points while competing at the Masters Qualifying Series event – aged just 16 years old.
